The shoe shop with the world's largest collection of shoes is in Dubai. The Level Shoe District takes up 96,000 square feet of real estate. It is stocked with 15,000 different styles from 250 brands. Gucci and Prada dominate but there are many designer styles. Previously Macy's laid claim to the title "world's largest shoe store" when it opened a 39,000-square-foot floor dedicated to footwear. Saks Fifth Avenue in New York recently added 7,000 square feet to its shoe department along with a dedicated elevator and private VIP room . The shop has also got its own postal ZIP code. Barneys New York recently launched a unisex designer shoe store that is 40% roomier with 350 more styles.

Scottish shoe designer Heather Weir became so tired with paying huge amounts for shoes with designer labels she launched her own shoe business called InspiredBuy. She decorates all of the shoes by hand and has been inundated with orders for her original and funky footwear designs. Heather is a model but has spent the last few months perfecting her glitzy designs. Her crystal-encrusted Marilyn stilettoes and her skull-and-crossbones-studded Rock Chick boots are already proving popular. Heather’s shoes sell for between £55 and £75. InspiredBuy is a new and innovative business which offers the opportunity to have your very own personally designed quality shoes, clothing and accessories at an affordable price.
